Frequently Asked Questions

I've Heard That SSC Members Are Frequently Harassed By Women Fans and Have Been Hit By Undergarments. Is This True?

Yes, this is true. SSC is working on limiting the number of female fans attending games and working to establish protocols for maintaining safe distance from sidelines. This issue is being addressed by Leadership. Being hit by female clothing items has been over-blown. Last year we there were only two players who encountered such problems. One was hit by a flying bra which ended up getting stuck under a cleat and resulted in a rolled ankle. The other incident was an aromatic pair of underwear thrown at the goal keeper causing a bout of distraction and a goal being scored. We think the woman might have been a party of the opposing team – not a real admirer.

I'm New. What Do I Need To Do To Start Playing Games

1. You need to get assigned to a team by our “All Powerful” Selection Committee.
2. You need to pay your season dues to the Team Manager.
3. You need to go to the “official” league office located at 345 West College Ave. Suite #D (Garage in the Back Corner) with CA Drivers License.
4. Bring Royal Blue Shorts and Socks to the game (We Provide WASHED Jersey shirt).
5. Yes, you need cleats and shin guards.

It's Friday, What Should I Do? TEAMSNAP!

Go to TeamSnap and set your availability for Sundays game. There is nothing more deflating to coaches and team managers than not knowing who is going to show up, thus preventing any form of roster coordination or planning. Better yet plan for the month ahead!

I Just Want To Play Sunday League Games… I Don't Have Time to Practice. Is That OK?

No. Not Cool. You are just a lazy thrill seeker. You need to see a good therapist who can help you integrate soccer into your mid-week routine. If you are new to the club we hope you LOVE soccer. That means you should enjoy the intensity of competitive scrimmages and practices just as much as wearing your stretchy Under Armour briefs on Soccer Sunday. If you are new and have been assigned a Reserve position please come out to practices and improve your skills. So members with a lot of soccer experience prefer our small 6 v 6 scrimmages.

What Happens if I Get A Red Card?

Please don’t get a Red card because another player who showed up loses their playing time and it HURTS the team. But if you did get one because you lost your temper and made a dumb foul or yelled at the Ref then you will need to go to the League office and pay them $25 to get your ID back and you will be banned from the following Sunday game.

I have Been on the Sideline For a While. Can I Sub Myself In at Anytime?

No, Lives are at stake. Please wait for someone to call for you. This is a timeless debate among men’s soccer enthusiasts. Since this is all for fun and games shouldn’t everyone get equal playing time. Ideally yes they should. But through trial and error we have learned that this can often lead to disastrous results on the field. Too many subs coming in and out can disrupt the rhythm and flow of the game. Thus, we have found the ideal game day roster to be 13 or 14 guys maximum.
